Frozen Royal Red Snapper Fresh Fillets
Red snapper is a reef fish with firm white flesh, a fine flake and a mild sweetness. The skin and flesh carry the deep rose colour the fish is named for, and the fillets hold together well on the bone or in the pan.
Whole or in fillets, snapper takes to steaming with ginger and spring onion, pan-searing skin-side down, or a slow bake with herbs. The flesh stays moist across a range of cooking methods, which makes it forgiving for anyone new to cooking whole fish.
- Firm white flesh with a fine flake
- Mild, sweet flavour
- Distinctive rose-red skin and flesh
- Suits steaming, pan-searing and baking
- Good for both whole fish and fillets
Keep refrigerated and cook within a day of thawing.
Good to know
Everything here comes off the ice and straight into the order. Cut, cleaned and trimmed by hand, then packed the same day it is picked. Expect firm flesh, clean edges and the smell of the sea rather than the fridge.
Cook it simply. Butter, lemon, a hot pan or a low oven will do more for it than anything complicated.
Keeping & cooking
Keep it cold, keep it covered, and cook it while it is still at its best. If something in the order is not right, tell us and a real person will look at it with you.
